Factoring and supply chain finance in the MENA region is attracting a lot of interest as it quickens its development. The region is rapidly growing into a global trading hub between east and west, with open account trading becoming increasingly common. The adoption of new technologies and the recognition of opportunity by investors, banks and fintechs is creating a very fertile environment. In the UAE, factoring and supply chain finance have been given a significant boost by the introduction of a Factoring Law (Federal Decree Law No (16) of 2021) which was issued on 29 August 2021 and came into effect on 7 December 2021. As a result, there has been an explosion of interest in receivables finance there. MENA Supply Chain Finance will examine the impact of these recent developments and the opportunities for the development and growth of factoring and supply chain finance and prospects for supporting the burgeoning demand for finance among SMEs and larger businesses. MENA Supply Chain Finance is not only for banks and financial institutions but also for fintechs, technology providers, credit insurers and all those with an interest in receivables finance.
