The Factoring Journey
The Factoring Journey
by Claes-Olof Livijn

Claes-Olof Livijn, who is considered to be the founding father of FCI, authored a book on the history of factoring. The book goes back to 5000 years ago when the first forms of factoring can be found. It includes ancient, classic and medieval factoring. It also explains the origins of the word factoring. It shows the evolution of factoring in Europe and the USA but also other countries where we can find roots of factoring. It explains the different types of industries where factoring developed itself and the types of factoring that were offered in the past. It finishes with more recent stories about modern factoring and highlights some factoring companies that took part in the success we know today for the industry.

The Factoring Journey

The book has been re-published in 2018 on the occasion of the FCI 50th Annual Meeting. It includes an introduction by Mr. Peter Mulroy (Secretary General of FCI), Mr. Patrick de Villepin (Chairman of the Association for Promotion & History of Factoring) and Mr. Richard Livijn (son of the writer Mr. Claes-Olof Livijn).
