Financing the Future of Trade: Factoring & Supply Chain Finance takes place on 29-30 October 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the country’s factoring and receivables finance market enters a new stage of development.
Georgia has been at the heart of a major transformation in factoring. On 6 April 2026, the country adopted its first-ever Law on Factoring, marking a major milestone in the development of receivables finance and laying the foundations for a more transparent, secure and scalable factoring market. At its core, the new framework aims to expand access to short-term financing, improve working capital turnover and enable SMEs to grow and innovate at a faster pace. The new framework also provides for the establishment of a factoring registry, strengthening transparency and reducing risks such as the double assignment of receivables. Alongside these measures, the development of a digital supply chain finance platform will connect buyers, suppliers and financiers, helping to make receivables financing faster, more efficient and accessible.
The workshop, hosted by Georgian Economic Development Corporation (GEDC) in partnership with FCI, will bring together key stakeholders for two days of practical discussion, international experience and knowledge exchange. Participants will explore the latest developments in Georgia’s factoring market, international best practices, risk management, and the impact of digitalization and e-invoicing, while connecting with industry experts and peers.
