55th Annual Meeting to host Morocco’s Minister of Economy and Finance

Following the postponement of the 55th Annual Meeting due to the horrific earthquake, we are set to proceed on the new dates of 29 October – 2 November, with the EBRD and FCI Conference on Factoring and Supply Chain Finance taking place on 2-3 November. Registrations have now been re-opened for both events. If you were not registered for the previous date, now is your chance to register and attend, so don’t wait.

This Annual Meeting will provide you with discussions on the latest developments on a range of topics, including Supply Chain Finance, Receivables Finance, Factoring, and so much more, as well as the unique opportunity to network with over 300 decision-makers from the industry.

We proudly announce that H. E. Ms Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance and Governor for Morocco, has accepted to be our Welcome Speaker. Nadia Fettah is the first woman appointed Minister of Economy and Finance in the Kingdom of Morocco. She was previously the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy. She started her career as a consultant in one of the most prominent financial studies offices before founding an investment fund in Morocco, which she managed for five years. After managing a Moroccan insurance company, Fettah accompanied a global holding corporate in developing its capital in Africa and the Middle East. In 2017, Nadia FETTAH was Chief Executive Manager of a group of companies in Africa before being appointed as Minister.

In parallel with her ministerial mission, Nadia FETTAH is active in the associative field, as she was one of the founders of the Women’s Club, members of the boards of directors, and the global network “Women Corporate Directors”.

The Annual Meeting will start on Sunday, 29 October, with a welcome dinner allowing all attendees to network. Monday is packed with interesting and in-depth presentations and panel discussions by leading industry experts. Tuesday will feature presentations and panel discussions in the morning, followed by the FCI Regional Reports and the Membership Forum, ending with a networking dinner at Palais Soleiman. The FCI Council Meeting will take place on Wednesday, with bilateral meetings for non-members. Wednesday evening will end with the new FCI Awards Dinner at the Palm Grove in the desert. As per tradition, FCI will close the Annual Meeting with the Networking Day on Thursday, 2 November, where attendees will be taken on a guided tour of museums, palaces and souks in Marrakech.

Following the Annual Meeting, the EBRD Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP) and FCI will host the Conference on Factoring and Supply Chain Finance in Marrakech. The Conference, free to attend for all, will start with an introduction and cocktail on Thursday, 2 November evening, after the networking day. On Friday, 3 November, attendees will hear from Factoring and Supply Chain Finance experts.

This Conference will see industry professionals share their expertise with attendees on Factoring and Supply Chain Finance developments, advantages and success stories. It will also cover fraud in factoring and supply chain finance: how to mitigate fraud risk. This EBRD and FCI co-hosted Conference will be presented in English and French and will feature simultaneous translation for all.

Following our postponement, the IMF/World Bank announced that they will hold, as planned, their Annual Meetings in Marrakech from 7-15 October, two weeks prior to our event. Their decision to proceed reflects their confidence in the state of the environment in Marrakech and the security on the ground.

If you are interested in joining us in Marrakech, we have re-opened registrations for both events, and you can register today by visiting the FCI 55th Annual Meeting official website and the EBRD Factoring and Supply Chain Finance Conference official website.
