The EBRD organised with the Central Bank of Kosovo a workshops “The case of factoring as an alternative tool for financing SMEs in Kosovo”. The organisors invited FCI’s Regional Director Ms. Betul Kurtulus and FCI’s Education Director Ms. Aysen Çetintaş to be a speaker at the event. After the Welcome remarks, the two representatives from FCI introduced the audience to factoring including international factoring and reverse factoring. They also explained the development of FCI and some financing opportunities in the region. In addition they presented some practical examples. The agenda also included some panel discussions such as a discussion on the regulation on factoring and one on the factoring in Kosovo with its challenges. The meeting was very successful as representatives of Kosovo banks, the Central Bank, and private sector were present.We think that this will help in the development of factoring in Kosovo.
