FCI Launch its Annual Review 2023

Following an impressive rebound in 2021 stemming from the global pandemic, the factoring and receivables finance industry produced record-breaking growth in 2022. In this year's Annual Review, FCI shares insightful articles by senior executives, including an in-depth roundtable discussion, regional updates, the Global Industry Activity Report and more.

Every year FCI publishes its Annual Review giving an in-depth overview of progress, opportunities and challenges facing the factoring industry. The Annual Review also presents FCI's annual industry figures and the global factoring industry statistics.

The 2023 edition starts with an article from Ms. Daniela Bonzanini, FCI Chairman, where she reflects on a historic year. Then we hear from FCI Secretary General, Mr. Peter Mulroy, who reports on the global factoring market, the evolution of FCI membership and last year's major projects.

This year's global roundtable discussion features Mr. Tony Brown, Mr. Jean-Mee Ernest, Mr. Zhixian Tang, Mr. Alfredo Bresciani and Mr. Victor Ignacio Portillo Sanchez as they discussed the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria used to support sustainability and best workplace behaviours, the ongoing impact of fraud, risk management and the outlook for factoring in light of an expected stagnation in global trade.

FCI Regional Directors, Mr. Alberto Wyderka, Mr. Lin Hui and Ms. Betul Kurtulus, FCI Regional Managers, Mr. Nassourou Aminou and Mr. Thompson Lui, and the EUF Chairman, Mr. Fausto Galmarini shares updates on their Regions. They provide commentary on the newly released 2022 figures and regional updates on regulations, advocacy, awareness, membership, challenges, and their outlook for 2023.

In the FCI Academy section for this year's edition, Ms. Aysen Centinas, FCI Education Director, highlights the crucial role of technical assistance and education in developing Factoring in emerging economies. She shared that while factoring has long been established in developed economies, its development in emerging economies requires a strategic approach. Technical assistance and education are two essential factors contributing significantly to the successful establishment and growth of factoring in emerging economies.

Then we move to the 2022 figures, where Mr. Ciprian Radu, FCI Business and IT Solutions Manager, explains the 2022 Global Industry Activity Report (GIAR) and FCI in figures.  And finally, we close this year's edition with the statistics for Factoring Turnover by Country/Territory in 2022 and the Total Factoring Volume by Country/Territory over the Last 7 Years, which witnessed significant challenges but also bounce-backs.

Mr. Peter Mulroy had this to say: "The 2023 FCI Annual Review is a key resource for any executive or person of interest who wants an in-depth analysis of the historic evolution of the factoring, supply chain and receivables finance industry. For those new to the business, the FCI Annual Review is a great resource and introduction to the Industry in general, but as well as a window into the future trajectory of the factoring, receivables and supply chain finance industry in particular. "

In the last two years, the industry has seen an impressive record-breaking surge in growth even through a challenging global environment. Although we anticipate a return to a more normalized environment, we expect the growth to persist for the foreseeable future.
