What the exam involves

This is a concise online assessment of Level 1 knowledge: 30 multiple-choice questions, a single attempt, and a clear standard that reflects everyday practice in our industry. A pass result places you directly into Level 2 (Intermediate) for the January start. If you do not pass, you will join Level 1 (Foundation) in the same Term 1 cycle so you can build the base you need before progressing. Either way, there is no lost time: you continue your learning journey in January.

Who it suits

The exam is intended for Member professionals who have gained Level 1 competence through experience rather than formal study. That might include colleagues working in trade finance, ABL, credit risk, operations, or legal who already engage with factoring workflows and terminology, as well as practitioners returning who wish to re-enter at the right level. If you are comfortable explaining the two-factor model, seller selection and control, buyer risk basics, assignment and documentation essentials, and the logic of dispute prevention and handling, the exam is likely a good fit to guide you to the right level based on your knowledge.
